Algorithms are designed, combined, and parameterised into reusable effect sequences — each one a building block in a personal visual toolkit.
The lab provides a set of interactive tools — each encapsulating a class of image processing algorithms. These tools are the vocabulary; effect chains are the sentences.
Individual algorithms gain power through composition. An effect chain defines a sequence of transforms applied to an image — each step feeding its output to the next. The order matters: the same algorithms in different sequences produce radically different results.
